Kévin Rouet extended, Pacific Four set for Ottawa

Rugby Canada has extended National Senior Women’s Head Coach Kévin Rouet through the 2025 World Cup to be hosted by England. The 37-year-old took charge of the side in March of last year, just months ahead of the World Cup in New Zealand.

In his first major campaign at the helm, Rouet led Canada to a 4th place finish at the World Cup, up one spot from 2017. The team earned unanimous praise for their performance against the heavily-favored England in the Semi Final despite ultimately losing by seven points.

Canada recently overwhelmed the USA in the opening fixture of the Pacific Four at the neutral venue of Madrid, Spain. On Monday it was confirmed that the remaining matches will be hosted at TD Place Stadium in Ottawa with four internationals scheduled in mid-July.

Other teams competing in the competition are New Zealand and Australia. The final rankings will determine which three teams advance to the new WXV tournament, which will be include a total of six high-ranked women’s sides from across the globe.
