Argentina down USA Hawks ahead of U20 World Championship

Argentina u20’s completed a comfortable win over the USA Hawks on Saturday. Playing away from home, Los Pumitas won 33-12. The teams will meet again on April 21.

The Argentina u20’s side had a healthy contingent of Super Rugby Americas talent. Players from Los Pampas and Los Dogos were on display and impressive against the senior USA Hawks side.

Second-rower Eliseo Chiavassa captained the side. He scored the second try of the match.The first went to left winger Ignacio Lucero. Los Pumas 7’s player Franco Rossetto scored the third, doing so from fullback. Los Dogos winger Valentín Soler was also a try scorer for Argentina u20’s. He touched down twice in the try zone.

Game two between the USA Hawks and Los Pumitas will be played on Friday, April 21 at he University of North Carolina in Charlotte, NC. The tour is part of Argentina’s preparations for the 2023 World Rugby Under 20 Championship. The tournament will take place in June and July. Argentina will face Georgia, Italy, and South Africa in Pool C.
