France to tour Argentina for test series in July 2024

France will tour Argentina in July 2024. A mid-year Test match series between Les Bleus and Los Pumas will be played in the South American country. Host cities and venues for the matches have not been confirmed.

The series will involve two matches. Argentina will play host to France on July 06 and July 13. The series will be the first matches for Los Pumas after Rugby World Cup 2023. They will, thus be the beginning of the RWC 2023-2027 cycle.

The dates of the two test matches fall after the competition of the Top 14 season. The 2023-2024 Top 14 season will begin on August 19, 2023 and conclude on June 29. The 2024 Top 14 Final will be seven days before France’s first test match against Argentina.

The series is to be France’s first appearance in Argentina since 2016. The previous tour saw the teams winning one test match each. France hosted Argentina in 2018 and 2021 while they also met at Rugby World Cup 2019 in Tokyo.

France will face Uruguay at Rugby World Cup 2019 in Lille. The match will be the first capped fixture between the countries. Perhaps there may be a second in 2024? There is room in France’s 2024 South American tour to add in a stop to Montevideo.
