Jackals winger Marcos Moroni hit with suspension

The first suspension of the 2023 Major League Rugby season has been dished out to Dallas Jackals winger Marcos Moroni. He was cited for an unspecified act of foul play during Sunday’s match against the Houston SaberCats at Choctaw Stadium.

Moroni’s act was deemed to be mid-range and he accepted an an act of foul play was committed. With an otherwise clean disciplinary record, it was determined that a three-week suspension was appropriate.

As a result Moroni will be unavailable for Dallas’ next three games starting with Saturday against the Utah Warriors, and the subsequent games against the Seattle Seawolves and San Diego Legion. He will be eligible to return for the March 18 road game against the Chicago Hounds.
