Arrows sign former Sunwolves center Tautalatasi Tasi

The Toronto Arrows have added some punch to their midfield on the eve of the 2023 Major League Rugby season. Tautalatasi Tasi makes the move to Canada after a stint in Japan that included a season with the Sunwolves in Super Rugby, and more recently with Tokyo Gas.

Born in New Zealand, Tasi grew up in Australia and began his professional career in rugby league. He notably suited up for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in 2016. Two years later Tasi switched codes and played for Brisbane City in the NRC and Gordon in the Shute Shield. In 2019 he made a Super Rugby debut with the Waratahs, making the move to Japan the following year.

The Arrows now have 10 players classed as imports but will only be permitted to use 8 in any match day 23, so some juggling in the lineup will be required. Tasi joins returnee Mitch Richardson, Irish international Noel Reid, and Shute Shield recruit Nic Benn as the primary midfield options.
