MLR preseason officially opens in Michigan

The 2023 Major League Rugby preseason officially got underway on Friday afternoon. It was the first MLR game played in the state of Michigan, pitting the Toronto Arrows against the New York Ironworkers at the indoor venue of the Legacy Center Sports Complex in Brighton.

Few details have been made public, but a handful of photos showed that both sides featured many of their first team players including some new names. Individual scorers were not available, but ARN has learned that two late scores gave New York a six-tries-to-four result.

Next weekend will see New York playing against Old Glory in another indoor venue, The St. James, with the Arrows due to visit in two weeks’ time. On Saturday Dallas will host the NOLA Gold in Arlington, while the Seawolves play the American Raptors at Starfire Stadium on Sunday.
