Cobras reveal Super Rugby Americas home in São Paulo

Cobras will play their Super Rugby Americas matches at the home of soccer club Nacional Atlético, in the Barra Funda district of São Paulo. Estádio Nicolau Alayon played host to the test match between Brazil and Portugal in November 2019.

Originally opened in 1938, the venue features a grass playing surface and has a capacity of 9,600. The very first soccer match played there was between Nacional and Corinthians, the latter notably the name of the Brazilian side that was to play in the cancelled 2020 Súper Liga Americana de Rugby season.

This will be the first year the newly-renamed competition will have a traditional home-and-away format. Previous seasons of SLAR were played at centralized venues, with the second half of the 2021 and 2022 campaigns played in Montevideo. Brazil did not host any SLAR matches.
