Malaysian lock Duke Krishnan headed to Chicago

The Chicago Hounds will have Major League Rugby’s first Malaysian international in their ranks this season. Second row Dinesvaran ‘Duke’ Krishnan makes the move after spending the past decade in Japan, most recently with the Hino Red Dolphins.

Krishnan was a standout locally with the COBRA Rugby Club before signing with Yamaha Jubilo in 2013. He then made the move to Hino in 2019. This is the first professional contract outside of the Asian region for the 34-year-old.

A powerful ball carrier who stands an imposing 6’6″ (1.98m), Krishnan has represented his country at international level since 2008. He joins ex-LA pair Luke White and Sam Peri in Chicago’s second row stable. Former Dallas flanker Mike Matarazzo can also cover lock.
