New York confirms return of veteran trio for 2023 season

The New York Ironworkers have confirmed the return of three established veterans for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. US Eagles hooker Dylan Fawsitt, flyhalf Sam Windsor, and outside center Fa’asiu Fuatai have each committed to another year with the defending champions.

Fawsitt, 32, was one of only two players to appear in every match for the club this past season. He scored 7 tries in 19 games and was then selected to the USA squad for the World Cup Qualifiers in Dubai.

Windsor is MLR’s all-time leading points scorer and at 35 years old remains a reliable option as a starter or reserve. He made 17 appearances in his first season with New York after making the move from Houston, and is expected to provide cover for first choice No10 Jack Heighton this season.

Fuatai missed only one game this past year, and made 17 starts in the No13 shirt. The 29-year-old teamed up with Jason Emery to form one of the league’s most effective midfield partnerships this past year.
