Pumas prospect Lucas Bur heading for Dallas

Another young Argentine prospect is bound for Dallas. Former Pumitas lock Lucas Bur will play for the Jackals in the 2023 Major League Rugby season, following a host of his countrymen to Choctaw Stadium. He makes the move from the Italian Top 10 where he suited up for Rovigo this past year.

Bur developed at the Jockey Club Rosario and was a standout for Argentina at the 2019 World Rugby u20 Championship. He was again eligible in 2020 but the competition was cancelled due to the pandemic. Later that year Bur was called into the senior Pumas training squad for the Rugby Championship.

At 6’5″ (1.95m) and 235lbs (107kg), Bur is not the biggest second row around but he is noted for a high work rate and exceptional lineout ability. The 22-year-old is also comfortable on the blindside flank but should feature primarily at lock for the Jackals.
