Jason Higgins re-signs with San Diego Legion

Canadian international Jason Higgins has re-signed with the San Diego Legion for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. It’s the third campaign in the North American competition for the 27-year-old, originally from Ireland, having spent the 2021 season with the Toronto Arrows.

Higgins was initially signed as primary backup for Nate Augspurger last season but played a leading role at scrumhalf after the USA international was injured. He played 13 games, including 9 starts, and scored 6 tries including a memorable hat-trick against NOLA late in the year.

San Diego are now stocked with competition for the No9 shirt with Higgins and Augspurger joined by New Zealander Richard Judd. Both Augspurger and Higgins were on international duty during the off-season, with Higgins collecting his 9th test cap for Canada.
