Chicago signs former LA lock Luke White

The Chicago Hounds have confirmed the signing of veteran forward Luke White for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. He arrives from the LA Giltinis, and brings strong leadership credentials to the pack having formerly captained the Colorado Raptors.

White, 31, is originally from Australia but qualifies for the USA on residency. He played a supporting role for the Giltinis during their title-winning campaign in 2021, but doubled his appearances in 2022 with 14 appearances and 11 starts including one as captain.

At 6’3″ (1.91m) White is on the shorter side for a lock but makes up for it with his signature physicality in the loose. He was formerly a loosehead prop and wore the No1 shirt on three occasions this past season, but looks set to be primarily considered in the second row for the Hounds.
