Arrows sign former Houston prop Nik Hildebrand

The Toronto Arrows have signed Canadian prop Nik Hildebrand for the 2023 campaign. He returns to Major League Rugby after a one-year hiatus, having previously suited up for the Houston SaberCats during the 2021 season.

Hildebrand joined the SaberCats from Canada’s centralized development squad, the Pacific Pride. He played 11 regular season games in 2021, starting 4 times. The 27-year-old has been playing for Burnaby Lake in the BC Premier League since departing MLR.

Now slimmed down to 240lbs (110kg), Hildebrand is an option on both sides of the scrum though he is most comfortable at tighthead. He is the sixth senior prop contracted along with looseheads Conan O’Donnell, Lolani Faleiva, and Connor Grindal, and tightheads Isaac Salmon and Tyler Rowland. Another No3, Denver Fatt, was selected in the Collegiate Draft.
