Dallas signs former Jaguares XV back Tomás Malanos

Make it seven Argentine professionals heading to Dallas next season. The Jackals have announced the signing of versatile back Tomás Malanos for the 2023 Major League Rugby campaign. He follows Atlético del Rosario clubmate Jerónimo Gómez Vara to Texas.

Malanos represented Los Pumitas at the 2016 and 2017 World Rugby u20 Championships. He was then called up to the Argentina XV squad for the 2018 Americas Rugby Championship, making appearances against the USA and Chile. In 2021 Malanos was a late-season addition to the Jaguares XV squad in SLAR, playing against the Olímpia Lions and Peñarol.

The 25-year-old can play across the three-quarter line, equally comfortable at wing or center. Along with flanker Gómez Vara, he joins front row trio Joaquín Horcada, Tomás Baravalle, and Juan Pablo Zeiss in Dallas, as well as scrumhalf Pedro Imhoff and outside back Marcos Moroni.
