Toronto brings in Irish prop Conan O’Donnell

The Toronto Arrows have signed loosehead Conan O’Donnell for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. A former Ireland u20 international, the 26-year-old has spent the past three years abroad playing professionally in Japan and New Zealand.

After breaking into the former Pro 12 competition with Connacht, O’Donnell signed on with the Sunwolves for the 2019 Super Rugby campaign. He then made the move to New Zealand, spending two seasons with Counties Manukau and making two Super Rugby appearances with the Highlanders. In recent months O’Donnell has played for Northland in the NPC.

The Arrows now have three looseheads on their books including returnee Lolani Faleiva and newcomer Connor Grindal. Both Isaac Salmon and Tyler Rowland are returning on the tighthead side, with Denver Fatt selected in the Collegiate Draft. O’Donnell effectively replaces Canadian international Cole Keith, who has moved to the New England Free Jacks.
