Pools revealed for Cape Town Sevens

The four Americas entries in the Men’s bracket have been drawn in separate pools for this weekend’s Cape Town Sevens. Meanwhile North American rivals Canada and the USA will meet in the Women’s bracket, with Brazil again set to face challenging opposition.

Australia, Great Britain, and Uganda await the Men’s Eagles after their 4th-place finish in Dubai. Argentina were the next-best Americas side in 6th. They are in Pool C with New Zealand, Kenya, and Spain.

Uruguay did well to finish in 10th spot and will have a chance to show further improvement in Pool B alongside Ireland, Samoa, and Japan. Canada’s 14th-place finish leaves them with the difficult proposition of taking on Fiji, France, and hosts South Africa in Pool A.

Pool C will have the eyes of North American fans in the Women’s competition with both Canada and the USA present, along with France and Japan. The Women’s Eagles earned a podium finish with 3rd place in Dubai, while Canada finished in 9th spot.

Brazil were at the bottom of the pile and now have to find inspiration against New Zealand, Fiji, and Great Britain in Pool B. Tournament winners Australia headline Pool A followed by Ireland, Spain, and invitational side South Africa.
