Jackals add former Pumitas prop Joaquín Horcada

Another Argentine forward has been added to the Dallas Jackals roster for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. Joaquín Horcada makes the move from Rosario to Texas, having previously represented his country in international competition at multiple age grade levels.

Initially a hooker, Horcada achieved a unique distinction in 2017 after being first called into the national u18 side, then the u19s, and finally the u20s all in the same year. He continued with the u20s in 2018 though he did not ultimately earn selection to the World Rugby u20 Championship.

The 23-year-old has now made the full-time switch to loosehead prop and is set to form an all-Argentine front row in Dallas alongside senior internationals Tomás Baravalle and Juan Pablo Zeiss. Flanker Jerónimo Gómez Vara, scrumhalf Pedro Imhoff, and outside back Marcos Moroni have also been signed.
