Dallas signs Argentine international hooker Tomás Baravalle

The Dallas Jackals have announced the signing of hooker Tomás Baravalle for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. He makes the move from Italy, where he has played for United Rugby Championship side Benetton Treviso for the past five seasons.

Originally from Rosario, Baravalle represented Argentina at u20 level before winning one test cap for Los Pumas against Uruguay in 2011. He would then make several appearances for the Argentina XV until moving to Italy to begin his professional career in 2017.

Baravalle, who turns 32 in December, follows countrymen Juan Pablo Zeiss and Marcos Moroni to Dallas. Along with Zeiss, the Jackals will now feature two Argentine internationals in their first choice front row. They will work with another former Pumas hooker in Mario Ledesma, who has joined the club as an assistant to new Head Coach Agustín Cavalieri.
