Brazil’s Saturday started with a default win over Venezuela. The Venezuelans had a delayed flight which saw them able to only compete in their final match of the day. Paraguay also won 28-0 via default against Venezuela. Brazil hammered Costa Rica with Lucas Muller scoring twice and Douglas Rauth, Daniel Lima, Felipe Sancery, Matheus Cruz, and Gabriel Quirino also scoring tries.

The decisive match was Brazil vs Paraguay. The Paraguayans opened the scoring but Brazil hit-back with two tries to seal a 14-5 win and book their place in Santiago 2023.
