Toronto Arrows sign Pacific Pride back Ciaran Breen

The Toronto Arrows have signed promising Canadian back Ciaran Breen for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. He joins from the Pacific Pride development program in Victoria, having recently been part of the National Senior Men’s Sevens squad.

Breen is a product of Shawnigan Lake School and starred for Canada’s age-grade sides before signing an academy deal with Biarritz in 2019. He then returned to British Columbia for a spell, before heading back to France with Carcassonne in 2021.

After making his World Sevens Series debut in the fall of 2021, Breen joined the sevens program full-time earlier this year. Primarily an outside center, the 21-year-old joins the Arrows as a versatile back who could get a look in the wider spaces to exploit his speed and running lines.
