November 2022 Internationals – Leinster vs Chile – ARN Guide

Chile’s three-match European tour concludes on Friday. Los Cóndores will take on Irish provincial side, Leinster. The non-capped match will see the greatest team from the United Rugby Championship (URC) facing the South American country in Dublin, Ireland.

Leinster are coahed by former Leinster and Ireland second-rower Leo Cullen. His side contains no shortage of players who are being given a rare opportnity both for province and to play against a team that will play at the Rugby World Cup.

Leinster academy players Chris Cosgrave, Rob Russell and Andrew Smith will for the back-three. URB rookie Ben Brownlee starts at inside center. He will partner Liam Turner in the mid-field. Fellow URC rookie, Charlie Tector starts at fly half. The forwards feature flanker Rhys Ruddock. The flanker played for Ireland at Rugby World Cups 2015 and 2019.

Chile are using the match to roate some players. This is evident up-front with Salvador Lues, Diego Escobar, and Iñaki Gurruchaga elevated from the replacements to start. The same applies to second-rower Pablo Huete. The former Bayonne forward makes his first start for Chile under Pablo Lamonne.

Changes are not limited to the front-five. Second-rower Clemente Saavedra has had starts at flanker and will play in another position against Leinster. He starts at N8 for the first time for Los Cóndores.

Rotation to the backs sees Nicolás Herreros, and Diego Warnken forming the halves combination. There is also a start for Gaspar Moltedo on the left wing and for Clemente Armstrong at inside center.

The game is open to all; admission to the game is free. The match will be streamed on the Leinster Rugby YouTube channel.
