Toronto Arrows re-sign giant prop Lolani Faleiva

The Toronto Arrows have re-signed loosehead prop Lolani Faleiva for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. He follows Isaac Salmon in returning to Canada from New Zealand, having spent recent months on the Hawke’s Bay roster in the National Provincial Championship.

Faleiva made a splash in his first season as a professional. The 23-year-old played in 14 games and despite starting only 3 times he used his powerful ball running to good effect, finishing second in the team in tries scored with 4. Only hooker Jack McRogers scored more.

At 6’5″ (1.96m) and 285lbs (130kg) Faleiva is among the largest players in MLR and should make a greater impact in 2023. He joins Australian arrival Connor Grindal as loosehead options revealed to date, with Salmon and Tyler Rowland at tightheads. Denver Fatt was selected in the Collegiate Draft and is currently playing for the University of Victoria in the BC Premier League.
