Canadian lock Tyler Duguid signs first Top 14 contract

Canadian lock Tyler Duguid has signed his first senior deal with French Top 14 side Montpellier. The 22-year-old is currently part of the club’s senior academy and will graduate to a full-time professional contract next season through the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

Duguid made his senior pro debut in May of last year and has now made 21 appearances across all competitions, including 11 starts in the Top 14. He has played in 7 of the club’s 10 games this season, including an 80-minute performance in the win over Pau.

A former Canada u20 representative, Duguid has yet to make his test debut and is not part of the Canadian squad to play against the Netherlands and Namibia. Older brother Kaden is currently on the books for Nationale 2 club Limoges while sister Abby plays for Loughborough Lightning.
