Americas Rankings – November 07, 2022

The Americas Rankings is an exclusive on Americas Rugby News. The rankings compare international teams from throughout the Americas. Matches recognized as full tests are used for the rankings. Teams yet to compete since the Americas Rankings began are listed with 30.00 points.

Chile remain 4th in the Americas and 21st in the World. Los Cóndores fell to a 30-23 defeat against Romania on Saturday. The result does not see changes to the rankings as Chile remain on 61.05 points.

There is also no loss in points for Uruguay. Los Teros were also beaten in Eastern Europe over the weekend. Uruguay’s 34-18 defeat at the hands of Georgia sees Uruguay unchanged. Uruguay are 2nd in the Americas and 18th in the World.

Not only do losses not always correspond into rankings falls, the same applies to wins. The Eagles’ massive victory over the Simbas is a case in point. The USA defeated Kenya 68-14 in Dubai; yet, fall in the rankings. Portugal overtake the USA and Hong Kong’s 42-12 defeat to Portugal means Hong Kong fall one place to 23rd with Canada rising as a result.

Argentina’s 30-29 win over England sees a 1.80 gain for Los Pumas. Argentina rise above Australia and Wales to now be ranked 6th in the World. Argentina’s grip at the top of the Americas Rankings continues. Argentina has always held 1st spot.

The Americas Rankings will be updated following the completition of internationa competititon next weekend. Activity involving the Americas will Chile and Uruguay both playing in Bucharest. Chile face Tonga on Saturday while Uruguay face Romania on Sunday. Saturday will also see Argentina against Wales in Cardiff, Canada against the Netherlands in Amsterdam and the USA against Hong Kong in Dubai.
