NOLA bids farewell to Juan Cappiello, re-signs Jack Webster

NOLA Gold have bid farewell to Argentine center Juan Cappiello, who has confirmed his retirement from the sport at the age of 30. At the same time 24-year-old outside back Jack Webster has committed through the end of the 2024 Major League Rugby season.

Cappiello is originally from the Pucará club in Buenos Aires. After playing in the 2012 Junior World Championship, he played in three tests for Argentina in 2013 and also represented his country on the World Sevens Series and in the Americas Rugby Championship.

A short-term contract with French club Carcassonne came in 2018 and Cappiello stayed in France, signing with Mont-de-Marsan the following year. In 2021 he signed with the Gold and would play in 30 games across two seasons, missing only two during that span.

Webster signed with NOLA June of 2020 as an undrafted free agent. He also spent a short time in France on an exchange with the Clermont Auvergne academy. An outside center or wing, he made his MLR debut in April of this year on loan with Dallas and then played two games for the Gold.
