San Diego have re-signed prop Nathan Sylvia and flyhalf Josh Henderson for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The duo are the first returning players from the 2022 roster confirmed by the Legion, to go with five incoming professionals to date and two draft picks.
Sylvia is one of just a handful of players who have been with the Legion since their inception in 2018. This past year he crossed the 50-cap mark and appeared in 15 of 17 games for the club, with 10 of them starts. The 28-year-old loosehead remains uncapped at test level but is currently on tour in South Africa with the USA Falcons squad.
Henderson, 25, was a late addition to the squad in 2022. Visa delays restricted him to just two appearances before the season ended. A former Scotland u20 representative, Henderson has also played professionally in France and Hong Kong. He is qualified to play international rugby for the latter with both his mother and grandfather having been born there.
