Canadian Men’s squad named for Brazil tour

Rugby Canada have named a 32-man squad to travel to São Paulo for two games later this month. The team will play against a Chile XV on on October 21, followed by a Brazil XV on October 26.

There are 13 uncapped players selected. Three played for the national u20 side that competed in Guelph in August – back row Matt Klimchuk and twin UBC midfielders Takoda and Talon McMullin.

A little over half the squad – 17 players – appeared in Major League Rugby this past season. Conor Young, Owain Ruttan, and Gabe Casey will join MLR sides in the coming season with the media release indicating Gradyn Bowd will also move to an American side.

National Senior Men’s coach Kingsley Jones will lead the side. Despite the non-capped development status of the matches, there are 13 players named who appeared in the July tests including captain Lucas Rumball and vice-captain Ben LeSage.

As of yet Canada have not confirmed any fixtures during the November test window.
