Glasgow Warriors sign Lucio Sordoni on long term deal from Argentina

Lucio Sordoni will continue his career in Europe. The Pumas tight-head prop was recruited by the Glasgow Warriors on a short-term deal to play in the United Rugby Championship (URC). Sordoni initially joined the Scottish side for the preseason but has now signed to stay on a long term deal until 2024.

Sordoni was to play for Mont de Marsan in France earlier this year. Injury prevented him playing in the Pro D2. Now he has the opportunity of playing in the URC.

The Glasgow Warriors hve a healthy contingent of Argentines. They are fly half Domingo Miotti, winger Sebasti[an Cancelliere and tight head prop Enrique Pieretto. All three are capped by Argentina as is Sordoni who has three test caps for Los Pumas. His move comes following injury to Pieretto.

Scotland will be the third country in which Sordoni has played professional rugby. He previously played Super Rugby for Los Jaguares in Argentina and for the Melbourne Rebels in Australia.
