Another Argentine to DC as Fermín Martínez joins from Belgrano

Old Glory DC have added a third Argentine to their roster for the 2023 Major League Rugby season, and fourth South American. Making the move from Belgrano in Buenos Aires is Fermín Martínez. This will be the first professional contract for the 25-year-old midfielder.

Martínez represented the province of Tucumán at age-grade level before joining Belgrano. He has been a first choice player for the famous club, one of Argentina’s oldest, since 2018 at either center position though he is most often found in the No12 shirt.

Over the past week DC confirmed the signings of Argentina XV flanker Lautaro Bavaro and former Pumas flyhalf Joaquín Díaz Bonilla, and the return of Uruguay hooker Facundo Gattas. All three played for the Hindú club and would have been opposition to Martinez in the URBA’s top division.
