A leading Puma is out of the November tour to England, Scotland, and Wales. Guido Petti is out for two months. He was injured playing for Argentina against South Africa in the final round of the Rugby Championship. The player suffered a knee injury, his second of the year.
Petti was a 30th minute replacement for Argentina in Durban. He came on for Pablo Matera who was forced off after a knock to the ribs. Petti played out of position in the back-row for thirty minutes. He left the match injured in the 60th minute. Debutant Pedro Rubiolo replaced Petti.
The 27-year-old Petti is a notable loss for Los Pumas. He has 73 test caps. Michael Cheika only used three second-rowers in the 2022 Rugby Championship. Petti joined Matías Alemanno, and Tomás Lavanini. Lucas Paulos was unused but on the roster for the matches against Australia.
Changes for November are now certain. Paulos is the probably replacement for Petti. Alternatively, Marcos Kremer may be moved from flanker to second-row or an uncapped player may be given an opportunity. Candidates include SLAR players Rodrigo Fernández Criado, Federico Lavanini, Nahuel Milán, Franco Molina or the Italian-based Federico Gutiérrez.
Argentina play three matches in November. Argentina face England in London on November 06, Wales in Cardiff on November 12 and Scotland in Edinburgh on November 20.
