NOLA Gold have acquired the rights to Scottish international Dougie Fife from the New England Free Jacks in exchange for salary cap considerations. At the same time the 32-year-old has agreed a two-year deal with the club through the 2024 Major League Rugby season.
Fife made a significant impact in his two seasons in Boston. He made 29 appearances, all starts, with 11 tries scored. After spending much of 2021 at outside center he focused on his preferred fullback position in 2022. All 8 of Fife’s Scotland caps, the last won in 2018, were as a winger.
It’s the fourth professional addition to NOLA’s roster for next season following ex-Hurricanes scrumhalf Luke Campbell, Brumbies flyhalf Rodney Iona, and Utah winger James Vaifale. Fife adds further quality to the outside backs following the departure of winger Nick Feakes to New York.
