Isaac Ross signs for San Diego Legion

Isaac Ross isn’t finished with Major League Rugby after all. Just days after confirming a deal with Japanese club AZ-Momotaro’s, the now-former Austin lock has signed on with the San Diego Legion.

The 37-year-old made 24 appearances for the AG’s over the past two seasons. He won 8 test caps for the New Zealand All Blacks in 2009. Ross fills an immediate gap in the Legion’s second row stocks following the trade of Ben Mitchell to the Seattle Seawolves in exchange for hooker Sean McNulty.

San Diego have now added five new players during the off-season. Ross and McNulty are joined by USA Eagles World Cup flyer Mike Te’o, who is returning from the Utah Warriors. Their two Collegiate Draft picks were tighthead prop Oliver Kane from the University of San Diego and hooker or flanker KoiKoi Nelligan from Army West Point.
