Another season for Saia Uhila with Utah Warriors

One of Utah’s originals has signed on for a sixth Major League Rugby season. Saia Uhila has put pen to paper for the Warriors for the 2023 campaign. He follows the re-signing of fellow club stalwart Lance Williams, the acquisition of second row Jonah Dietenberger, and addition of flyhalf Joel Hodgson.

Uhila has been an ever-present for the Warriors since their inaugural 2018 campaign. The 35-year-old made a dozen appearances this past year to bring his total to 55 for the club in five seasons.

Also capable of playing in the back row, the Tongan powerhouse was used mainly at second row in 2022. Uhila is the third lock confirmed by the Warriors for the upcoming campaign. Dietenberger arrives from the San Diego Legion, while Greg Janowick was the 18th overall pick in last month’s Collegiate Draft.
