Jamason Fa’anana-Schultz extends Old Glory contract

Jamason Fa’anana-Schultz has signed a one-year extension with Old Glory DC through the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The USA international has been a standout at the No8 position since arriving at the club from the Houston SaberCats ahead of DC’s inaugural 2020 campaign.

This past year was one of frustration for the 26-year-old. He missed 10 games due to suspension, the first for striking Toronto Arrows flanker Lucas Rumball and the second for foul play against Dallas Jackals hooker Augusto Böhme. As a result Fa’anana-Schultz missed out on the USA’s tests against Chile but will be eligible to play in the upcoming Repechage tournament.

It’s the third re-signing confirmed by Old Glory inside the past week. Club captain Danny Tusitala was followed by second row Stan South. The club also added five players in last month’s Collegiate Draft. Blindside flanker Felix Kalapu will not be returning have signed for the Western Force.
