Arrows sign Canadian-eligible prop Connor Grindal

The Toronto Arrows have signed loosehead prop Connor Grindal for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. He arrives from Gordon RFC in Sydney and is Canadian-eligible through both of his parents. Grindal’s father Iain was a provincial-level player in Ontario before emigrating to Australia.

At Gordon the 24-year-old played in the Colin Caird Shield 2nd-grade division, one below the Shute Shield. Grindal previously spent five years with Sydney University and was selected for the New South Wales Schoolboys representative side in 2016.

Toronto have now confirmed four additions from the Southern Hemisphere ahead of the 2023 campaign. Second row Micaiah Torrance-Read arrives from New Zealand with Grindal joining outside center Nic Benn and winger Fabian Goodall in making the move from Australia.
