Arrows sign Manawatu lock Micaiah Torrance-Read

The Toronto Arrows have announced the signing of second row Micaiah Torrance-Read for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. Standing 6’5″ (1.97m) with a weight of 250lbs (113kg), the 27-year-old will arrive from New Zealand where is currently playing for Manawatu in the National Provincial Championship.

Torrance-Read has been a regular starter in the Turbos squad since 2020 after making the move from Taranaki. He has also been a standout at lock or No8 with Massey University (Varsity) in the local club competition where he recently played alongside Arrows midfielder Ueta Tufuga.

Toronto have already confirmed the re-signing of this past season’s club captain Mike Sheppard while Adrian Wadden will return in the new year after completing a loan spell with Sandy Bay in Hong Kong. Other locks on the roster in 2022 were Paul Ciulini and Kyle Baillie, whose status remains unconfirmed.
