Eagles prop Maya Learned re-signs with Gloucester-Hartpury

Gloucester-Hartpury have re-signed USA international Maya Learned for the 2022-2023 Premier 15s season. The 26-year-old returns for a second season in South West England. At the same time the club have confirmed the departure of Eagles lock Kristine Sommer.

Learned made 11 appearances this past season including 7 starts. While her primary position is loosehead prop, she also started four games at lock in the second half of the season. The Denver native won her 9th test cap against New Zealand in June and is now aiming for a spot on the World Cup squad.

Sommer also played 11 matches for the club, including two in the Allianz Cup, in what was her first season with Gloucester-Hartpury. She had previously spent two seasons with London-based Harlequins.
