Moneta and González Rizzoni named to 7s Series Dream Team

Two Argentine stars have been named on the official HSBC Dream Team for the 2021-2022 World Sevens Series. Wing Marcos Moneta and forward Luciano González Rizzoni earned selection after helping Los Pumas to a fourth overall finish on this year’s circuit.

Both players were prolific scorers over the course of the season. Moneta was tied for third with 38 tries, including a remarkable tally of 10 in Vancouver, while González Rizzoni was tied for 6th spot with 30 tries scored. This is the first time either have been chosen in the year-end select side.

Joining González Rizzoni in the forwards are South Africa’s Zain Davids and Australia captain Nick Malouf. Alongside Moneta in the backs are Fiji’s Waisea Nacuqu and the two top try-scorers from this season, Ireland’s Terry Kennedy and Australia’s Corey Toole.
