Argentina roster for Rugby World Cup Sevens

Santiago Gómez Cora has confirmed Argentina’s player roster for the 2022 Rugby Sevens World Cup. Los Pumas 7’s will be a title contender for the tournament in Cape Town, South Africa. The roster is the same as that which will also play in the Los Angeles Sevens.

World Rugby Sevens Player of the Year, Marcos Moneta is on the roster. He will play under the leadership of veteran Gastón Revol. Regular captain Santiago Álvarez Fourcade is out following surgery. Regulars such as Luciano González and Rodrigo Isgró are  on the roster as is another top name in Matías Osadczuk.

Ignacio Mendy is missing from the roster. It comes as a reprise given that he also was not a part of neither the Argentina nor Argentina XV roster for the July Internationals. On the flip side, there are opportunities for Alejo Lavayén and Franco Rossetto, both of whom won gold for Argentina at the 2022 South American Games.

The fourteen-man-roster will be narrowed down to twelve for the World Cup.
