Eagles duo Waters and Washington sign for Sale Sharks

USA Eagles scrumhalf Carly Waters and second row Alycia Washington have signed with Sale Sharks for the 2022-2023 Premier 15s season. They make the move north from London-based Saracens and Worcester Warriors respectively.

This will be the second Premier 15s campaign for Waters, 26, who signed with Saracens a year ago. She made 16 appearances during the season, 6 as a starter, but was notably left out of the match day 23 for the Championship Final match against Exeter Chiefs.

Washington had the same number of appearances for Worcester with 9 of them starts. The 31-year-old was part of the 2017 World Cup squad. She did not travel to New Zealand for the Pacific Four but remains in contention for the upcoming World Cup in October.

Waters and Washington join four other USA internationals at Sale. Props Catie Benson and Nick James return to the club for a second year, as does flyhalf or inside center Katana Howard. New cap Georgie Perris-Redding, a flanker, signed for Sale in 2020 along with twin sister India, a scrumhalf.
