Canada names side to face Zimbabwe in u20 series opener

Canada’s Men’s u20 side will return to action from a two-year hiatus on Saturday. They will open their three-match series against Zimbabwe with all matches played at Guelph University.

Montauban midfielder Liam Bowman captains the team with loosehead prop Mehdi Porchet and second row Logan Weidner also based in France. South Africa-born Alastair Bruce packs down beside Weidner, with Ethan Fryer of the New England Free Jacks at openside flanker.

Toronto Arrows duo Sam Reimer and Kobe Faust start at scrumhalf and left wing respectively. Bermuda native Jamin Hodgkins gets the nod at flyhalf ahead of James Biss, and there are twin threats in the backline in the form of the UBC’s Talon and Takoda McMullin.

Kickoff is set for 6:30pm local time, 3:30pm Pacific. Chile will play against Uruguay in the curtain raiser that kicks off at 4pm local, 1pm Pacific. Both matches will be streamed live on YouTube.
