NOLA Gold have announced the re-signing of loosehead prop Kevin Sullivan for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 27-year-old from San Francisco returns for a fourth season with the club, and follows contract extensions of flanker Devin Short and winger Harley Wheeler.
Sullivan has been a consistent performer for the Gold since signing from the Cal Golden Bears. This past season he appeared in all 16 games, 8 of them starts. He was particularly impressive during the five-week absence of USA international Matt Harmon, during which Sullivan averaged over 70 minutes a game.
The Gold continue to build an impressive stable of US-eligible front rowers. Along with Harmon, the club acquired 2021 first round pick Sam Klimkowski from LA in May. Hookers Alex Lopeti and George Sharpe recently traveled to Colombia with the USA South Panthers, and both added USA Selects to their resume in the fall to match that of Pat O’Toole. Brian Nault was also on the Selects tour of Uruguay and is competing against Eagles cap Dino Waldren for the starting tighthead role.
