Etcheverry headlines Uruguay lineup for Challenger 7s in Santiago

Seven players with test match experience have been selected by coach Ivo Dugonjic to represent Uruguay at the World Rugby Challenger Series event in Santiago this weekend. The winner of the tournament will earn a core spot on the World Sevens Series.

Felipe Etcheverry is the star playmaker who started all four games for Los Teros against Japan and Romania. He is joined by Baltazar Amaya, Bautista Basso, Carlos Deus, Tomás Etcheverry, and Tomás Inciarte. Former Teros scrumhalf Guillermo Lijtenstein is the most experienced man in the squad.

Uruguay have been drawn in Pool C along with Germany, Uganda, and Lithuania. The tournament takes place at the Estadio Santa Laura beginning on Friday and ending on Sunday.
