Colombia hold on to beat USA South Panthers

Colombia held on to beat the USA South Panthers in Barranquilla on Wednesday. The match was the first of a two match series between Colombia’s test team, Los Tucanes, and the visiting USA South. The series is game preparation for Colombia ahead of the Tri Nations against Brazil and Paraguay.

Los Tucanes held an 18-14 half-time lead. It proved to be just enough for victory. Points were extremely rare in the second half; in fact, there was only one score, that being a penalty to the USA South Panthers. The final score of 18-17 sets-up a series deciding fixture in game two on Saturday.
