Injury Change for Argentina to ahead of facing Australia

Argentina has been hit by a late injury change ahead of facing Australia. Fly half Benjamín Urdapilleta will miss the opening round of the Rugby Championship. The Castres number 10 remains sidelined with discomfort in his left leg.

Urdapilleta will not travel nor play against the Wallabies in Mendoza. His spot on the roster for the round one fixture has gone to Tomás Albornoz. As such, the Argentine coaching staff have Tomás Albornoz, Santiago Carreras, and Nicolás Sánchez as their fly half options for next weekend.

Albornoz was an unused replacement for Argentina in the test series decider against Scotland earlier this month. Michael Cheek called-up Albornoz following his involvement for the Argentina XV in their tour matches against Georgia and Portugal.

The call-up sees Albornoz joining fellow Benetton players Tomás Gallo and Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro on the roster. The change follows call-ups for Lucas Mensa, Santiago Medrano and Joaquín Oviedo.
