Uruguay will play against three World Cup-qualified teams on their end-of-year tour. Georgia, Romania, and Tonga will be their opponents, with the latter securing their place in the tournament after defeating Hong Kong in Australia yesterday.
All three are currently higher than Los Teros on the World Rankings, with Uruguay currently at 18th, and Romania and Tonga just ahead at 17th and 16th respectively. Georgia’s are the the highest-ranked of the three at 13th in the world.
Venues for the matches are yet to be confirmed. Georgia will host on Sunday, November 6, with Romania hosting the following weekend on Saturday, November 12. The match against Tonga will be at a neutral venue on Saturday, November 19.
None of the three will be an opponent for Los Teros at Rugby World Cup 2023. Tonga and Romania are in Pool B, with Georgia in Pool C. Uruguay will compete in Pool A against New Zealand, Namibia, Italy, and hosts France. Los Teros recently split their series against Romania in Montevideo.
