Powerful Los Pumas Roster to face Scotland in July

A powerful Argentina roster has been named to face Scotland in July. Los Pumas will host Scotland in three matches, all of which will be played in Northern Argentina. The series is the first of its kind between the teams.

New head coach Michael Cheika has made it clear that he wants a winning team. There are no players being rested for the July series. Instead, there are big names missing who will instead play for the Argentina XV against Portugal and Georgia.

Cheika and his staff have recalled former captain Agustín Creevy in addition to veteran Castres fly half Benjamín Urdapilleta. Meanwhile, uncapped Lautaro Bazán Vélez has been included. This comes with Gonzalo Bertranou on the Argentina XV roster and Felipe Ezcurra not selected.

Julián Montoya retains the captaincy. The Leicester Tiger captains a 33-man roster. The number chosen happens to be the same as that which teams take with them to the Rugby World Cup.
