Exeter and Saracens win to set up Premier 15s final showdown

Exeter Chiefs will play Saracens in the Premier 15s Final on June 3 after the two sides were victorious in their respective Semi Finals on Sunday. Several North American internationals played starring roles and will now square off in Worcester before joining up with Canada and the USA for the Pacific Four.

Eagles center Alev Kelter contributed two conversions and two penalty goals for Saracens in their 30-10 result over defending champions Harlequins. Fellow USA select Lotte Clapp started on the wing and co-captained the side. Canada contributed starting flanker Mackenzie Carson and winger Alysha Corrigan, as well as reserve prop Alex Ellis.

It was a dramatic finish at Sandy Park where Exeter survived a formidable challenge from Bristol to make their first Premier 15s Final. The Bears had come back from a 21-nil deficit to lead by three until USA winger Jennine Detiveaux’s game-winning try in the 77th minute. Eagles prop Hope Rogers scored two tries and earned Player of the Match honors, while center Gabby Cantorna kicked four conversions.

Back row duo Kate Zackary and Rachel Johnson were the other USA representatives, with Zackary co-captaining the side from No8. Canadians on the winning side were hooker Emily Tuttosi, tighthead prop DaLeaka Menin, and replacement forwards McKinley Hunt and Gabrielle Senft.
