Season Over for Rodrigo Fernández Criado

The SLAR season is over for Rodrigo Fernández Criado. The Jaguares XV second-rower is back in Argentina following injury sustained playing in the South American league. He will miss the SLAR play-off’s and will be out of contention for Los Pumas in July.

Fernández Criado suffered a severe sprain to his left ankle against Peñarol. The injury saw him missing Sunday’s match against Os Cobras. It has since gone from bad to worse as Fernández Criado is using crutches and requires an eight week recovery regime.

Pedro Rubiolo, and Manuel Bernstein started in the second-row against Os Cobras. They are inline to start the Semi Final against Selknam. The Chilean side has Franco Molina, a stand-out performer in SLAR 2022. Injury to Fernández Criado may see an opportunity for Molina or another SLAR second-rower involved in Michael Cheika’s plans for July.
