Tomás Lezana signs Scarlets extension

Tomás Lezana will stay in Wales for at least one more season. The Argentine flanker has signed a contract extension with Llanelli-based Scarlets through 2023.

Since making the move from the Western Force last year, Lezana has played 9 games for Scarlets with 2 tries scored. Injury ruled him out of several weeks earlier this year but he returned to action in mid-March and has now started the last six games at the No7 spot.

The 28-year-old is one of several hopefuls seeking to impress new Pumas coach Michael Cheika. Lezana won 38 caps through Rugby World Cup 2019 but has appeared in just two tests since, partly on account of a bicep injury suffered in September that ruled him out of the much of the Rugby Championship and the November internationals.
